Twitter Shuts Down Popular Apps

Today at 4:50PM, I tried viewing my Twitter via ÜberTwitter, only to be prompted with a "Forbidden" message. Ignoring the two tweets posted from Twitter's @Support account, I tried refreshing timeline again. "FORBIDDEN". Those infamous words highlighted the screen again. I finally read the only two tweets on my timeline. The first read: "UberTwitter, twidroyd, and UberCurrent have been suspended due to policy violations. Read More here: http://t.co/HHGa9k1 ." The second pointed users of the suspended apps to a link to download the official Twitter app.

Twitter's explanation for suspending the apps could be read here: http://t.co/HHGa9k1

This is big, because there are a lot of users that use these popular apps.

I wonder which violations the developers of these apps were violating. Does anyone know?
